Mark Hurley, 41, of Danville passed away at Carle Hospital on Sunday February 22, 2015. Mark was born April 11, 1973 Indianapolis, IN. Mark was surrounded by his dedicated parents, Mike and Tina Hurley, as well as his 6 brothers and 1 sister: Michael Hurley (Julie) of Laguna Niguel, CA, Tom Hurley (Megan) of Tampa, FL, Liz Sookarry (Sharma) of Danville, David Hurley (Katie) of Danville, Jeff Hurley (Brandi) of Danville, Paul Hurley of Danville, and James Hurley (Jenna) of St. Joseph, IL. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Lorraine Martinek, 19 aunts and uncles, 54 cousins, and 13 much-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Martinek, paternal grandparents, John and Eileen Germata, his aunt Jean Fruit, and cousins Bradley Germata and Kurt Simmons. Mark adored his large family and was the center point for them in return. Although epilepsy stole a large part of his life, he never complained and always had a big smile on his face. He was fondly known as The Tickle Monster and the Best Card-Picker on Earth. Besides his loving family, attending Church at St. Paul's was the most important thing in his life. He helped his family out at the Country Store for most of his life, and also attended Crosspoint Human Services, where he formed many friendships over the years. He loved all the Chicago sports teams and building beautiful jigsaw puzzles. A Celebration of Marks life will take place on Saturday February 28, 2015 at Saint Pauls Catholic Church at 10:00 am. A visitation will be held on Friday February 27, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville at 4:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. You are welcome to wear a cap or jersey for your favorite Chicago team to the visitation.
