Mark Francis Fullenkamp

Mark Francis Fullenkamp, 72, of Rantoul went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at his home.

There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Rantoul. Fr John Verrier will officiate. Burial of ashes will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rantoul. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove, Rantoul.

Mark was born April 13, 1952, in Urbana, a son of Louis and Mary Fullenkamp. He married Cindy Delva on Nov. 20, 1971, at St. Malachy Church. She preceded him in death on Feb. 17, 2016.

He is survived by two daughters, Shannon (Greg Cook) Summitt of Champaign and Karey (Troy) Sisk of Rantoul; a brother, Danny (Sharon) Fullenkamp of Rantoul; five grandchildren, Tyler Sisk, Preston Summitt, Shelby Sisk, Alden Summitt and Sam Cook; and three great-grandchildren, Carter, Hudson and Baylee.

Mark was a graduate of Rantoul Township High School. He worked as an operator at the Rantoul Waste Water Department for many years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Rantoul and Thomasboro for many years, retiring two years ago. He was a member of the St. Malachy Church.

He enjoyed life: fishing, camping, boating, golf and was very supportive with his grandchildren and their sporting events. He was a Cardinals fan. Mark was often seen in the local parade clowning around or running around town on his golf cart keeping his finger on the pulse of Rantoul. “What time is it? – Smoking Time!” was a favorite quote letting folks know there was some good food to be had. Mark was a good-natured soul that will be missed.

Memorials may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of American.
