Mark D. Morgan

Mark D. Morgan of Danville, passed away on August 3, 2015. He was born February 20, 1967 in Danville, Ill. to Vearl "Sonny" and Ann Aleknas Morgan. Mark enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR races that involved Kyle Bush, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grand kids. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Tina Hacker Morgan, with whom he was united in marriage July 27, 1985; he is survived by his cherished children, Amanda (Jason) Welker, Rachel Morgan, and Corey Morgan; by his dear grandchildren, Anthony Dodson, Mariya McCullough, Logan Welker, Erin Welker, and Adam Welker; by his mother, Ann Aleknas Morgan; his siblings, Robert (Lisa) Pierce, Michael (Dorrie) Pierce, Linda (Jeff) Kontoulis, Nancy (Joe) Kaliszewski, John (Judy) Morgan, Laura(Melvin) Atteberry, Kim (Joe) Dunbar, Tracy (Rocky) Meeker, and Heather (Joey) White; by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; special friends, Jerry Aguire, and Greg Lamb; and by many other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Vearl "Sonny" Morgan; his grandparents, John Aleknas, Mark Thaney, Frances Thaney, Vearl Morgan and Iva Morgan; a special uncle, Berlie Morgan; a special cousin, Jr. Petty and Kristian Hayden. A visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion, Danville, Ill. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
