Marjory E. Kair, 88, passed this life at 8:35 am, Thursday, June 12, at Colonial Manor Nursing home. She was born on December 14, 1925, in Henderson, Kentucky, the daughter of Beven U. and Mary (Albert) Fuller. She graduated from Anderson, Indiana High School, in 1943, and in 1968 from Utterbach-Brown Business School in Danville. She worked as a payroll clerk for the City of Danville from 1968 until her appointment as City Clerk in 1972, and was reappointed by 5 mayors until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing bridge, cheering on Indiana University basketball, and keeping up with her grandchildren. She was a strong and independent single mother who raised three children. They survive her: Scott (Lisa) Kair of Danville; Mike (Michelle) Kair, of Wichita Falls, TX; and Tracey (Mrs. Rick) Smith, of Fithian. Also surviving are grandchildren Anna Kair, Beven (Laura) Kair, Lucas, Mary (Tyler) Brown, Clay (Lindsay) Smith, and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of Marjorys life will be held at 11am on Monday June 16, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will be held on Monday June 16, 2014 from 9am to 11am at the funeral home. She has asked that memorials be contributed in her name to Shriners Childrens Hospital, c/o Eastern Illinois Shrine Club, PO Box 315, Danville, IL 61834, or the charity of the donors choice. Marjorys family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, for the excellent care they provided Marjory for the last seven years.
