Marjorie M. Cline

Marjorie Matilda Cline, 95, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 17, 2019 in her home.

Margie was born May 3, 1924 in Tilton, Illinois, the first of 8 children, to George and Jessie Freese. After high school she married the love of her life, Hufford Russell "Red" Cline, on December 30, 1942. Margie worked for 45 years in Danville as a bookkeeper for Howell Playground Equipment, as well as North Gilbert Auto Supply and for Reds business, Mr. Tire. She was a devoted wife and mother and in her spare time enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, golfing, reading, and traveling. After retirement in 1988, she and Red moved to Sarasota, Florida, and split their time between Sarasota and Cody, Wyoming each year for 15 years. She loved spending summers out west and always looked forward to stops in Danville both going and coming from Cody each year. But her true happiness came from spending time with her family, her grandchild, and two great grandchildren, who always brought a big smile to her face.

Preceding Marjorie in death are her parents; her husband, Red; sisters, Winifred (Toby), Jenny, Charlotte, and Delores; and brother, Charles.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Henry) Cline Foster; her granddaughter Katherine Foster (Nick) Carter; great grandchildren, Kaia and Forrest Carter; sister, Sally (Don) Smith; and her brother, John (Nancy) Freese.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor James Blue. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation hour will be held just prior to the service from 9 to 10 am at the funeral home.
