Marjorie L. Thornton

Marjorie L. Thornton, 82, of Danville, passed away at 6:45pm Wednesday January 11, 2006 at Vermilion Manor, Tilton. She was born July 24, 1923 in Cambridge, Illinois; the daughter of the late George and Pearl (Cook) Glassford. She married Bernard E. Barney Thornton May 14 1947 in Danville. He preceded her in death January 15, 2003. Survivors include; twelve children Bernadine Cheek of Missouri, George Peto of Danville, Kent Peto of Arizona, Michael (Marjorie) Thornton of Louisiana, Brenda (Kenny) Jackson of Danville, Randall (Debbie) Thornton of Indiana, Beverley (Jim) Ulrey of Danville, Barbara (Richard) Iverson of Danville, Willard Thornton of Danville, Rocky (Cathy) Thornton of Danville, Gerald Thornton of Champaign, and Todd (Tamara) Thornton of Danville, one brother; Willard F. (Betty Mae) Glassford of Evansville, Indiana, several grand children, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one great-granddaughter. Marjorie was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo, working cross- word puzzles, word search, puzzles, and drawing. She also loved flowers.
