Kingman, Ind. - Marjorie L. Kanedy, 85, of rural Kingman, passed away at 10 a.m. EST Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Rockville Nursing and Rehab Center in Rockville, Indiana. She was born July 27, 1927 in Humerick, Illinois, the daughter of the late Edgar and Annie Trosper Mullins. She first married Steve A. Mikel. He preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Richard L. Kanedy on January 3, 1969 in Montpelier, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1992. Survivors include one daughter, Melona(John)Wilson of Howard, Indiana; three sons, Steven Mikel of Poneto, Indiana; Dennis Mikel of Portland, Indiana and Gary Mikel of Liberty Center, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; one sister, Joan Scott of South Dakota; one brother, Gerald Mullins of Danville, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, one sister and two brothers. Marjorie was a nurses aide in Oklahoma for 15 years. She attended the Mount Herman Church in Howard, Indiana. Marjorie enjoyed working on word search puzzles and watching wrestling. Funeral services: 3 p.m. EST Friday, November 23, 2012 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Don Perry; Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 1 p.m. EST Friday, November 23, 2012 until time of services at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the family or funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
