Marjorie L. Hacker

Marjorie Louise (Lamb) Hacker, 97, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2022 in Hoopeston, IL. Marjorie was born on September 7, 1925, to Walker and Elsie Lamb. She married David Hacker on March 2, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2003. Marj attended Oakwood Schools. She worked at Montgomery Ward and later Hyster in Danville, IL for many years.

Marj leaves behind her loving daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Lloyd Smith; her grandchildren, Lucas and Katie Smith and Molly and Terry Goodwin; her wonderful great-grandchildren Morgen, Kenna, Lawson, and Adlei Smith and Madi and Teagyn Goodwin and a bonus great-granddaughter. Her great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Marj was a member of Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL. She told everyone that she talked to about her Lord and her church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Serve Together: Vermilion County, by making checks payable to Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL (with Serve Together in the memo) or to Heart of Africa, by making checks payable to Crossroads Community Church in Kokomo, IN (with Heart of Africa in the memo).

In her final days, Marj was asked what she would like to tell everyone, she replied "love the Lord, and do what He says."

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Stephanie Spangler will be officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Catlin, IL. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
