Perrysville, Ind. -- Marjorie I. Richardson, 74, of Perrysville, Indiana and formerly of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 5:17 p.m. EDT Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at her residence in Perrysville. She was born January 18, 1935 in Newport, Indiana, the daughter of the late Spencer and Alice Hathaway Devins. She married Jesse Richardson, Jr. on April 1, 1953 in Cates, Indiana. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1984. Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Tryon of Perrysville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Felicia(Kevin)Siddens, Leslie Sconce, Patrick(Nicole)Sconce, Jeremy(Heather)Tryon and Tabatha(Shane)Laws; eleven great grandchildren with one on the way; one brother, Kenneth Yocuma of Perrysville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Battliga on January 20, 2007; one sister, Evelyn Coon and one brother, David Devins. Marjorie worked at the former St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois, retiring in 1971. She was a 1953 graduate of Cayuga High School. She attended the Gessie United Methodist Church in Gessie, Indiana and the Liberty Church south of Covington, Indiana. Marjorie enjoyed her flower garden, mushrooming, cooking, teaching bible study, collecting angels, playing the piano and taking care of everybody. She also enjoyed devotions at the Highland Manor Senior Citizens Center in Perrysville. She especially enjoyed seeing and hearing stories about her great grandchildren. Funeral services: 1 p.m. EDT Monday, September 28, 2009 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Tom Cash; Burial: Miller Cemetery, Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 11 a.m. EDT until time of services at the funeral home.
