Marjorie A. Feaster, 92, of Rantoul, IL passed away on the evening of Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Country Health Care and Rehab, Gifford, IL.
She was born April 23, 1930 in Thomasboro, IL, a daughter of John and Alma (Hayn) Loeschen. She married Gerald Dean Evans on February 12, 1949 at the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1977 in a farming accident. She married David Feaster on June 14, 1980 also at the American Lutheran Church. He preceded her on November 1, 2005.
She is survived by 3 children, Pat Hagen of Thomasboro; Cindy (Bill) Elliott of Rantoul; Bruce Evans of Rantoul, 4 step-children, 3 grandchildren, Jim (Kristie) Burke of Thomasboro; Jenna (Cody) Anderson of St. Joseph, IL; Gage Elliott of Niceville, FL, and 4 great-grandchildren, Kyle Burke of Fisher, IL; Karsyn Burke of Fisher; Delanie Anderson and Wesson Anderson both of St. Joseph. Also surviving are several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 step-daughters.
Marjorie attended Thomasboro schools and graduated from Rantoul Township High School in 1948. She was a lifetime member of American Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and bible school. She loved being a farm wife and driving the grain truck. She made many meals for her husband and the hired hands. She adapted as well as she could to her retired military life with her second husband! She was a wonderful seamstress, sewed dresses and tap dancing costumes for Patty, shirts for Dean and Bruce, and cheerleading uniforms and swim suits for Cindy whether she wanted them or not!
She was a wonderful mother and friend to many. She was always perfectly coiffed and dressed to the nines.
There will be a funeral service at 11:00 on Tuesday morning at the American Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Rantoul. Rev. Jeanette Thorpe will officiate. Burial will follow at Beckman Cemetery, Thomasboro.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at American Lutheran Church.
Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul is handling the arrangements.
