Marjorie Birge, 79, of Danville passed away at 11:51 AM on December 1, 2013 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Danville, IL on October 26, 1934, the daughter of Walter and Jessie (Pate) Pashe. She spent 61 wonderful years with Wayne Birge who she married on November 1, 1952 at Vermilion Heights Christian Church in Danville. He survives. Marge will be deeply missed by her husband, three sons, Dr. Kenneth (Vicky) Birge Jr. of Bloomington, IL, Steve Birge of Lesterville, MO, Randy (Sandy) Birge of East Peoria, IL, one daughter, Jenny (Gary) Day of Danville, IL, one brother, Bob Pashe of Eustis, FL, two sisters, Jean (Dale) Cundiff of Oakwood, IL, Patty (Ron) Turner of Danville, IL, and eight grandchildren, Christopher Birge of Bloomington, IL, Tony and Emily Birge of East Peoria, IL, Jessica and Alyssa Birge of Markleville, IN, Wesley, Mitchell and Sarah Day of Danville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister, Eleanor Mae Pashe and one infant grandson. Marjorie graduated from Danville High School and went to work for Meachum and Meachum Law Office in Danville as a legal secretary until her retirement. She was a lifelong member at Vermilion Heights Christian Church where she played the organ for almost 50 years. Marge was known for baking her pies and sharing them with all her friends and family. She was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Illini. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all of them. A celebration of Marjories life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Vermilion Heights Christian Church, there will be a time for friends to visit from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville from 4:00-7:00 PM. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials can be made in Marjories name to Vermilion Heights Christian Church 725 Oakwood Avenue, Danville, IL 61832.
