Marjorie Barbara Sanders, 84, of Tilton, passed away at 8: 20 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Marjorie was born on July 16, 1925 in Double Springs, Alabama, the daughter of William and Mabel (McCullar) Gleghorn. She married Leroy M. Sanders in August of 1964 in Marshall, Illinois. He preceded her in death in September of 2006. She is survived by her two grandchildren- Shawn (Stephanie) Taylor of Fishers, Indiana and Amy Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas; three great-grandchildren- Lane Taylor, Madison Taylor and Taylor Pitmon; and two nieces- LaDonna (Bill) Johnson and Darlene (Phillip) Sanders both of Columbus, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Robert Bobby Taylor, sister- Judy Rebecca Price and nephew- Mitchall Keith Jackson. Marjorie worked for G.E. in Danville for 20 years, until she retired in 1976. She was a member of the United Church of Tilton. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, fishing, camping and traveling. She also loved her two dogs Jada and Cody Jo. Marjorie was very much a people person. She loved to spend time talking and visiting with friends. She also enjoyed playing jokes on people. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Marvin McCormick officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Per Marjories wishes she will be cremated. She will be buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
