Danville - Marjorie Ann Maden, 88, of Danville passed away at 3:20 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. She was born on October 4, 1925 in Danville, the daughter of Byron C. and Masie Bell North. She married her husband of 67 years Marion L. “Bud” Maden on February 5, 1947 in Danville. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Maden-Biava of Danville, and Dona Farnsworth of Danville; grandchildren, Byron (Kate) Biava, Seth (Kendra) Biava, Grant (Kat Davis) Biava,Charles Richard (Gabriel Corea) Farnsworth, and Rebecca (Michael) Lanter; great-grandchildren Quinn Irene Biava, Blaire Ann Biava, Brooklyn Sowder Biava, Aurora Biava, Brayton Kenneth Biava, Hunter Jacob Biava, Dylan and Tyler Lanter and Nicholas, Trenton, Lillian Lanter. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Allen North. She graduated from DHS, attended DACC and Brown Business College. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for nearly 90 years, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and learning Gods Word through Bible Study class with her husband. Marjorie loved gardening and taking care of her flowers and plants. Other talents passed onto Marjorie her from her mother were cooking, quilting, sewing and knitting. She grew grapes from vines that were passed down to her from previous generations and made her own grape jellies, jams and wine. She loved getting together with her Bunco club and was a 50+ year member. She had the good fortune of traveling the U.S. and making memories with her family. Marjorie gave her time in many ways. She enjoyed keeping current with what was going on in the community and helped organize community events. She enjoyed helping to arrange high school reunions, family reunions and all the Christmas parties. She was an active volunteer for Brownies and the Girl Scouts. She was a member of D.A.L.A., YMCA, active in the Wives of I.B.E.W., Local #538, and a member of the Eastern Star. Marjorie was also member of the GAO Grotto and had many good times boating and swimming there. She remained an active member of the U.S.O. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She never missed a soccer, basketball, hockey or baseball game and attended their school and church activities and plays. A service to celebrate the life of Marjorie Ann Maden will be held at 10 AM on Saturday August 9, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Reverend Dr. Jimmy Hopper will officiate. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday August 8, 2014 at the funeral home.
