Obituary for Marion Maden Marion Leroy Maden, 91, of Danville, IL. passed away at 9:37 PM on Monday, April 20, 2015 in Milton, IN surrounded by loved ones. He was born on January 10, 1924 in Danville. He was the son of Jacob and Sadie Cline Maden. He was married to Marjorie A. Maden on February 5, 1947 until her passing in August 2014. Marion is survived by one sister Norma Jean Burkeen, one brother Arthur "Art" (Marjorie) Maden, two daughters Linda Maden-Biava and Dona Farnsworth of Danville. Five grandchildren Rich Farnsworth, Becky (Michael) Lanter, Byron (Kate) Biava, Seth (Kendra) Biava, and Grant Biava. Ten great grandchildren: Dylan, Tyler, Nicholas, Trenton, and Lillian Lanter; Aurora, Hunter, Brayton, Quinn and Blair Biava. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Mary Jane Maden and Evelyn Ashwood, and his wife Marjorie A. Maden. Marion was a member of the United States Army serving from February 24, 1943 until January 1, 1946 during World War II. He served in the 3rd Army, 26th Infantry Division under General George Patton during the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded 4 Bronze Stars during his military career. After returning home, Marion began working August 3, 1948 with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 538 until his retirement on April 1, 1987. Marion enjoyed spending his time fishing, boating and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge, Gao Grotto, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. A visitation will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM on Friday April 24,, 2015. A service to celebrate the life of Marion Maden will be held at 2 PM on Saturday April 25, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville, IL. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
