Marion D. Hollingsworth

Marion Dale Hollingsworth, 93, of Danville died on Friday December 20. He was born on March 8, 1931 in Newport Indiana, the son of the late Oscar E. and Gladys Brown Hollingsworth.

Services will be held on Monday, December 30, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 215 N Division St, in Cayuga, Indiana. Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM (EST) with services at 2:00 PM.

He is survived by his brother, Paul Hollingsworth of Newport Indiana, 6 nieces, 7 nephews and their families, many friends and his associates Lynnette and Allan Bouton.

He was preceded in death by his long-time and loving companion, Arleeta J. Majors, and special friend Kathy Beaver, sisters Doyne Dwiggins (Wilson) and Lucille Lee (Edgar) and brothers Emery, Howard, Hubert, Clyde, Stanley, Maynard, and Donald.

Upon graduation from Newport High School he farmed for his brother Emery before entering service in the United States Air Force. After completing his service Marion pursued a variety of endeavors until embarking on a varied and successful career in aviation, logging numerous hours crop dusting and cargo hauling before ultimately retiring after 23 years as chief corporate pilot for Hyster-Yale Inc. in Danville.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Villas of Hollybrook in Danville and the Hospice team from Transitions Care of Champaign for their attention, care and support.
