Marion Eugene Huron, 79, of Stateline, Indiana, passed away at 2:05 p.m. est. Sunday, December 21, 2008 at The Waters of Williamsport. Marion was born on July 17, 1929 in Danville, the son of Benjamin Francis and Flossie Mae (Songer) Huron. He married Carolyn Hughes on October 22, 1955 in Danville. She survives. He is also survived by one daughter- Sandy (Greg) Anglum of Columbia, Tennessee; two sons- David (Debra) Huron and Jeff (Kelly) Huron both of Stateline; two sisters- Margaret Colwell of Tilton and Sid (Floyd) Wells of Danville; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters. Marion worked for several years at Certified Metallurgical and later at Thermo Techniques, until he retired in 1994. He was a member of the United Church of God in Lafayette, Indiana. Marion loved music. He enjoyed playing his guitar and dulcimer. He also enjoyed reading and writing poetry. After retiring, Marion enjoyed helping his family with building their houses. He also enjoyed repairing and fixing things. A Celebration of the Life of Marion Eugene Huron will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Victor Kubik officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gopher Hill Cemetery in Stateline, Indiana. Memorials may be made to The Waters of Williamsport.
