Danville Marion A. Blackburn, 89, of Danville passed away at 11:20 AM on April 21, 2020 at Magnolia Springs Senior Living Center.
Marion was born on March 26, 1931 the son of Bernard and Ethel Blackburn in Terre Haute, IN. He married Pamela Pope on June 21, 1984 in Danville and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Blackburn, two sons, Kenny (Lori) Blackburn of Houston, TX and Carl Blackburn of Terre Haute, IN, one daughter, Kerry Kelley of Indianapolis, IN as well as two grandchildren, Amanda (Tyler Polley) Vandom and Aiden Kelley both of Indianapolis, IN, one great-granddaughter, Brynlee Price of Indianapolis, IN.
Marion is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and on great grandson, Judson Vandom.
Marion served in the United States Navy from January of 1951- October of 1952. He was an Electronic Instructor at DACC for many years. In his free time he enjoyed camping and fishing
A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Robbie Ketcherside will officiate. As per Marions wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and inurnment will be in Danville National Cemetery. Memorial Visitation will be held from 9:00 10:00 AM on Friday May 1, 2020 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Law Enforcement Charity of the donors choice.
