Marilyn Sue Phelps

Sue Phelps, 82, of Danville, passed away at 5:20 PM on August 24, 2011 at North Logan Healthcare Center in Danville. Sue was born to Charles and Grace (Huffman) Mack on August 8, 1929 in Danville. She was previously married to Donald Earle Phelps on April 16, 1950 in Danville. Surviving are one son-Neil (Priscilla) Phelps of Danville; two sisters- Sally (Don) Bubik of Rochelle, IL and Julie (John) Wallis of Hilton Head, SC; three grandchildren-Ericka, Lindsey (Eric) Johnson, and Cory Phelps; four great-grandchildren- Madalyn, Sophia, Kyler, and Evie. She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband. Sue graduated from Danville High School in 1947. She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church. She worked for Fannie Mae candy shop, the Vermilion County Courthouse, CE&I Railroad, The Bath Shoppe and Lakeview Hospital. Sue had many friends and never forgot a name. She loved animals, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of the Life of Sue Phelps will be held on August 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Peggy Emmert officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday August 28, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Sue's name to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Danville United Methodist Church.
