Danville - Marilyn S. Neal, 75, went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2014 at 5:36 p.m. in Catlin, IL. Marilyn was born the daughter of Harold and Marjorie Ping in Danville, IL on May 22, 1939. In 1960 she married James Neal and had three wonderful children together. Marilyn is survived by her children Mark Edward (Ann Louise) Neal of Williamsville, Tracy (Tim) Cross of Danville, and Jeff (Lisa) Neal of Danville; grandchildren Zachary Neal, Maxwell Neal, Shayla Cross, Elizabeth (Bryce) McMorris, and Rachael (Jesse) Alvarez; great grandchildren Hope, Damian, Kaleb, and Avery; sisters Linda (Bill) Marion, and sister-in-law Joyce Ping; and her ex-husband James Neal. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Marjorie; her brother James Ping; and great-grandson Timothy Cross. Marilyn was a graduate of the Lakeview Nursing School and a registered nurse for over 40 years. She enjoyed working at Furrys Machine shop in their accounting department. Marilyn was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to cook for her family and was known for her delicious meals. She was an avid reader, dog lover, and a cook book collector. She loved her church family and volunteered countless hours at the Northside Church of Christ in Bismarck. Marilyn was very kind, thoughtful, and selfless. Her meek and gentle spirit will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the North Side Church of Christ or your choice of charity. A celebration of Marilyns life will be at 11 a.m., January 2, 2015 at The Northside Church of Christ of Bismarck. Visitation will be from 3pm to 6pm on January 1, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a life celebration home in Danville. Burial will follow at Walnut Corner Cemetery.
