Marilyn Montgomery

Marilyn Montgomery, 79, of Westville, passed away at 8:48am, Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Hawthorne Inn, Danville, IL. She was born on June 26, 1939, in Georgetown the daughter of Kenneth Allen and Beulah {Scurlock} Patterson. She was first married to Harvey Grant Knight on December 29, 1957, with whom she had four children and later married Vearl "Pete" Lynn Montgomery on October 3, 1980, until his death. She will be dearly missed by: her daughters, Shelli Pettigrew of Westville, Kris Knight of Danville, Karla Knight of Chrisman, and Jill Tucker of Georgia: and her sister, Charlotte Markle of Ridge Farm; her ten grandchildren, Shawna Blakeney, Sara Paxton, Misti Knight, Michael Knight, Jessie Knight, Warren Richards, Kayla Knight, Nikkia Tucker, Tessa Tucker, & ChiAnne Mosley; and her 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Kenneth "Pete" Patterson; and her husband, Vearl "Pete" Montgomery. Marilyn loved to read and go shoe shopping. She also enjoyed playing video games, going to the Casino Boat, and traveling. She loved her family above all else. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at 6:00pm, Monday, July 9, 2018, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm at a later time.
