Marilyn McNeese, 86, of Danville passed away on March 20, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. She was born in Danville on December 30, 1935 to parents Dorothy and Orville Devore. They preceded her in death.
Marilyn attended Georgetown High School. She married Larry McNeese in November of 1960 and together they moved to Danville. A year later, they welcomed their only daughter, Kolleen. Larry preceded her in death in 2005. Their daughter Kolleen Stacey of Oakwood survives as well as former son-in-law Tom Stacey. Marilyn is also survived by her granddaughter Lexi Stacey (Logan Moody) of Georgetown; her sister Peggy Warren, also of Georgetown; niece Shelley (Richard) Peelman of Georgetown and nephews Robert Warren, Jr. of Tampa, Florida and Michael (Leah) Warren of Georgetown. She leaves behind 3 great nephews and a great-great niece as well. Her family will miss her fun-loving spirit and her joyous laughter.
Marilyn was not only preceded in death by her parents and husband, but also her brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Warren.
Marilyn worked as an admitting coordinator for the United Samaritan Hospital (present day OSF Scared Heart Medical Center) for 16 years. Even after her retirement from United Samaritan, Marilyn enjoyed volunteering her time at the hospital. She was a member of the South Side Church of Christ in Danville for many years. She had a passion for wine, sweets, and shopping. However, her absolute favorite thing in the world was spoiling her only granddaughter.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. A funeral service will take place the following day on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor Dave Martin will be officiating. She will be laid to rest next to Larry at Sunset Memorial Park following services.
