Marilyn Lee Haase

Marilyn Lee Haase, 84, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 8:00am, Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on November 30, 1932, the daughter of Leroy J. and Madolyn {Smith} Newcomb in Garret, Indiana. She was united in marriage to Franklin D. Haase on January 27, 1952, in North Liberty, IN, until his passing on July 18, 2005. They had celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2002. She leaves behind: her sons, James (Sue) Haase, Dave (Maggie) Haase, & Richard Haase, all of Ridge Farm; her daughter, Mary Beth Haase of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Eric (Tisha) Haase, Ryan (Heather) Haase, Brandy (Ed) Peevler, Madolyn (Carlos) Estrada, Elisha (Charlie) Lyons, Stacey (Justin) Ray, Dustan Haase, Sarah Haase, Seth McDaniels, & Olivia McDaniels; her great grandchildren, Lacey & Shelby Peevler, Paitan Haase, Alex & Mathew Lyons, Gavin, Zane, & Jaxen Ray; her brother, Bud (Donnie) Newcomb of North Liberty, IN; and her sister, Jan Hammaker of Warsaw, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents. Marilyn was a member of the Vermilion Grove Friends Church and Women's Home Extension. She loved square dancing and traveled extensively abroad with her husband. She also enjoyed cooking & canning and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading Karen Kinsbury's books. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as her dog, Coal. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Vermilion Grove Cemetery.
