Marilyn Joyce Clawson

Marilyn Joyce (Edgington) Clawson, was born on August 20, 1939 to the proud parents of Clyde and Clarice (Roberts) Edgington. This bundle of joy was later joined in sibling ship by a brother Carl "Gene" Edgington and a sister Evelyn (Edgington) Trimmell. While growing up on the farm and attending Bismarck Schools she loved her horses and marching in the band tooting her trumpet. During her high school years there was this young man, George Albert Clawson that made sure she noticed him, but she didn't really care for him. Fate had different plans for her and they were married on October 27, 1961. A few months later in July of 1962 they welcomed the birth of their son David Gene Clawson. It wasn't long after in February of 1965 they were blessed to welcome a daughter Brenda Joyce (Clawson) Furry and then another daughter in September of 1968, Melissa Sue Clawson. She enjoyed the growing family that her children gave her by adding a wonderful daughter-in-law, Samantha (Boaz) Clawson and a special son-in-law Dan Furry. The family grew even more with each of her three children having children of their own. The addition of three grandchildren, which she adored more than life itself includes, Ayla Clawson, Alyssa Furry and Albert Clawson. Being an awesome mother to her children and special grandmother to her grandkids was something that came natural to her. Her hobbies were many but her family was at the top of the list. She enjoyed looking into her family history and researched her genealogy on the Ancestry website. She loved to cook, sew, play the organ and sing and dance whenever she had the opportunity. She loved the game 10,000 where she could roll a few dice with some wonderful friends. Marilyn loved the Lord Jesus and said she always felt His presence in her life. She went to be with Jesus on July 17, 2015. As her family feels a huge loss in their lives, they all know how loved they were by such an amazing women. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Kiley Garrison officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
