Marilyn Sue Johnson, 87, of Danville, IL passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Colonial Manor. She was born on June 28, 1931 to John and Hazel Stine Estock. She married Mervin W. Johnson, Sr. on June 3, 1948 in Danville. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Gene Estock. She is survived by three children: Merv Jr. (Vicki) Johnson of Oakwood, Ronald (Cathy) Johnson of Danville, and Rhonda (Gary) Tyrl of Danville; siblings: Jerry Estock of Bullard, TX, Nancy Pollock of Oakwood, and Darlene (Wayne) Pankow of Fairmount; grandchildren: Cheri Silha of Oakwood, Chris (Holly) Johnson of Round Rock, TX, Amy (Tye) Pasquale of Bismarck, Eric (Lindsey) Johnson, and Gary Tyrl, both of Danville; and step grandchildren: Karen McGuire of Danville, and Cindy (Erick) Parker of Tennessee; great grandchildren: Alex Silha of Oakwood, Peri, Elliot and Quinn Johnson all of Round Rock, TX, Emma Pasquale of Bismarck, and Madalyn Garriot, Sophie, Kyler and Evie Johnson all of Danville; and step great grandchildren: Gage and Logan McGuire of Danville, and Corwin Parker all of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn had a love for many things including cookbooks, hummingbirds, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is now together again with Dad but will be missed dearly by her family and the people that loved her. The family would like to give a special thank you to Colonial Manor and their staff. They have been wonderful throughout Marilyn's stay with them. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion St in Danville. On Tuesday, November 13, 2018 visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Christian Church, 1101 N Vermilion St in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Patti Wise. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
