Marilyn Jean Proctor went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5th, 2022. Marilyn was born on September 12, 1947 to the late Harry and Maxine (Williams) Van Camp in Danville, Il. She attended Tilton, Lincoln and Washington grade schools, South View Jr. High and graduated from Danville High School in 1965.
Marilyn married the love of her life, Thomas E. Proctor, on June 4, 1966. Thomas survives along with their three children, Greg (Stephanie) Proctor, Lori (Jim) Adams and Joni Proctor. She is also survived by five wonderful grandchildren, Abby (Kyleer) Vance, Tyke Proctor, Cody (Sarah) Proctor, Skylar Adams & Cameron Adams. And two great-grandchildren, Kruz Vance & Ava Proctor.
Marilyn was a homemaker and loved to cook and bake for her family. Thursday night was "family night" for many years and she would cook for her family their favorite meal and they could bring guests along to share in the meal. She loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all brought so much joy into her life.
Marilyn is also survived by two brothers, Leland Van Camp and Garry (Linda) Van Camp and one sister, Lana Miles. Two sister-in-laws Jeanie (Keith) Hughes and Mary (John) Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two brothers, Wayne Van Camp and Randy Van Camp and a brother-in-law Michael Proctor Sr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Danville where she faithfully attended since the age of 14. She served in the infant nursery for 25 years and loved the Lord. She loved cooking, praying for others, listening to Gospel music and doing scrapbooking. She made albums for all of her children and grandchildren and a cookbook album so her family could share all of her recipes.
Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.
A Celebration of Marilyns life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at The Assembly Danville, 428 N. Walnut Street, Danville, Illinois 61832. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Doug Knapp will officiate. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements.
