Marilyn Jacobs, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on September 16, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 16, 1936, in Henning, Illinois. Her infectious happiness and radiant spirit touched the lives of everyone she met.

Marilyn was a dedicated employee, working at Olin/Flexel as a lab technician for 34 years. Her commitment to her work was evident in her meticulous attention to detail and the joy she derived from her contributions to the community. Colleagues admired her not only for her skills but also for her uplifting personality that always brought a smile to the workplace.

Marilyn was raised on a farm which led to her life-long passion for gardening, landscaping, and yard work, activities that allowed her to connect with nature and enjoy the outdoors. She also enjoyed playing golf and going out to have a meal with her close friend Lorraine Lambert and other great friends. An animal lover at heart, she cherished her dogs and found great joy in their companionship, reflecting her gentle and caring nature.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Larry Jacobs; her two stepsons, Tony and Jason Jacobs; and her cherished grandchildren, Claire, Vivian, Jessica, and Brett Jacobs. Each of them carries forward the legacy of her kindness, joy, and unwavering support.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Francis Hargan; her mother, Margaret June (McMillin) Hargan; and her daughter, Lori Ann Youngblood. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved her.

Marilyn's family has entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Covington Chapel 420 3rd street Covington, Indiana, with cremation. Memorial service will be held at Rivercrest Golf course 14 Club house Dr. Covington, Indiana 47932 on Sunday October 12, 2025, from 12 - 2 pm est.
