Marilyn I. Stingley, 50, of Georgetown, died at 3:57 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at residence surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born September 17, 1956 in Danville, IL. She is the daughter of Herman and Letha (Priest) Fitzwater, Sr. of Georgetown, IL. She married the father of her children, Kenneth Stingley, Jr., on March 15, 1975 Marilyn is survived by her very loving children, Scott (Kerri) Stingley of Montezuma, IN, Victoria (Cory) Griffith of Georgetown, IL, Katrinka (Jeremy) Slater of Memphis, TN, and Dennis Tingley of Paris, IL; seven grandchildren, Taylor Linne, Aubrey and Amber Stingley, Haleigh and Riley Griffith, and Keegan and Kolby Slater, who will miss their Nanny dearly; her mother, Letha Fitzwater of Georgetown, IL; three brothers, Frank (Julie) Fitzwater of Covington, IN, Herman (Tammy) Fitzwater of Cayuga, IN, and James Fitzwater of Georgetown, IL and three sisters, Dorothy (Harvey) Bonomo of Georgetown, IL, Betty (Dave) Adkisson of Georgetown, IL and Martha (Chris) Fortner of Cayuga, IN. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Fitzwater, Sr., maternal and paternal grandparents and a nephew. Marilyn had two very special friends, Shirley Mullen and Sally Cox, who walked beside her through the trails of life. Marilyn was employed at Trios Restaurant for over 11 years and was currently employed at Danville Metal Stamping for 9 years where she had met many wonderful people, all of whom she considered friends. Her hobbies were spending time and fishing with the true loves of her life, her grandchildren. She also enjoyed painting, gardening, and cooking with them as well. Marilyn will be forever remembered for her kindness, generosity, and her beautiful spirit. A celebration of Marilyns life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. James Blue officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, IN.
