Marilyn Halls, 74, of Danville, passed away at 7:45 p.m. on September 23, 2005 at North Logan Healthcare Center in Danville. Marilyn was born on February 16, 1931 in Danville, the son of Steve and Belva (Chandler) Poullos. She married Richard Olson in 1950. She later married Clark Nichols in 1955 in Danville. He preceded her in death in 1976. Marilyn later married Wilson Halls in August of 1978 at Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives. She is also survived by her daughter- Stephanie (Brice) Yates of Bismarck, Illinois; one sister- Nancy Fullen of Danville; two granddaughters- Kodi (Andy) Vicari of Springfield, Illinois and Kasi Yates of Indianapolis, Indiana; two great-grandchildren- Dawson Vicari and Braylee Vicari both of Springfield, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands- Richard Olson and Clark Nichols, one brother- Louis Poullos, and two sisters- Martha Dukes and Helen Roark. Marilyn attended Danville High School. After school she worked at the Sugar Creek Creamery and Fonners Dry Cleaners. In 1971 she purchased Fonners Dry Cleaners. It later became Marilyn and Kodis Dry Cleaners. She operated the cleaners for 30 years. She did all the dry cleaning for the Babe Ruth movie when it was shot in Danville. She was also well known for her humorous marquee at the dry cleaners. Especially the drop your pants here. Marilyn retired from the cleaners in June of 2001. She loved to buy and collect antiques. She had a knack for decorating. She also enjoyed going shopping on Saturdays with her daughter and her granddaughters. Marilyn devoted her life to taking care of her husband Wilson. She was a very giving person and did a lot for her family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at North Logan Healthcare for taking care of Mom and supporting the rest of the family during this time. A celebration of the life of Marilyn Halls will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 27, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Rev. Drew Mentzer and Bud Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday. Entombment will be at Springhill Mausoleum. Memorials may be made in Marilyns name to the Provena Regional Cancer Center.
