Marie Lewis

Danville- Marie Delthea Lewis, 79, of Danville passed away at 2:35 AM on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 2, 1931 in Gibson City, IL to Franklin Charles and Alta Upton Williams. She married Jack E. Lewis on May 13, 1974. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2004. Surviving are four children, Jerry (Barb) Luttrell of Anderson, IN, Sam (Teresa) Luttrell, Jim Quick of Danville, and Debbie (Paule) Ball of Vidor, TX, as well as two step-children she raised as her own Romona (Bob) Bowman of Danville and Jack E. (Brenda) Lewis, Jr. of Oakwood; two brothers Ronnie (Mary Ann) Williams of Indiana, and Donnie (Nancy) Williams of Danville; three sisters, Bonnie (Ronnie) Ball of Savoy, Sherry (Bob) Wilson of Gibson City, and Rae (Griff) Griffith, and half-sister Cindy (Doug) Wallace of Roberts, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Julie, Justin, Dean, Brent, Sheena, Nikki, Cole, Sarah, Ashley, Brandy, James, Hannah, and Chin-lee; and 12 great-grandchildren. Aside from her husband, Marie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frank and sister-in-law Ruth. Maries favorite pastime was watching her husband Jack play music in his band. They also traveled in their motor home and were members of the Brick Club. Maries hobbies were being active in the Vermillion Heights Christian Church, reading and working in her yard. She also enjoyed when her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come visit Marie mostly loved taking care of her husband, family and loved ones. A service to celebrate the life of Marie Lewis will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Rod Godley will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-3PM prior to the services on Saturday, also at Sunset.
