Marie Jones

Marie B. Jones, 73, of Oakwood passed away on August 26, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Marie was born March 24, 1935 in Ury, West Virginia daughter of Harry John and Lula K. Kidwell Lambert. Survivors include: loving mother Lula Lambert and son: Col. Jim (Tina) Honey, dentist in the U.S. Army; Brother: Jim (Ann) Lambert; Sisters: Audrey (Joe) Vira, Karen Ruth Lampin, and Joy (Ray) Maxey; Very special aunt: Melba Arnold; Very special nephew: Charles (Barb) Lampin; nieces & nephews: Renee (Keith) Kowalske, Tammy (Brian) Troutman, Rick (Christy) Kidwell, Dr. Kim Kidwell, Bruce (Barbara) Vira, Michael (Debbie) Vira, Chad Lambert, and Jacob Lance. She was preceded in death by her father, husband Glenn H. Jones, Brother Dick Kidwell, and infant sister Delores. Marie was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, W. VA and attended beauty school in Washington, DC had worked as a dental assistant in Danville for a number of years. Marie was a very elegant woman that enjoyed gardening, flowers, parties, poems, reading, cooking, children, and most of all a good conversation. A Celebration of Maries Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home. A private committal service will be held on Monday at Danville National Cemetery.
