Marie Edwards

Marie G Edwards, 87, of Danville, died at 7:25 am, Saturday, April 27, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria Illinois. Marie was born September 22, 1920 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Forest and Jewel (Vick) Roberston. She married William A. Edwards on August 8, 1941, in Danville, Illinois. He precededed her in death on December 28, 2001 Marie is survived by two daughters, Sandra S. Gurnery of Danville, IL and Debra Edwards of Danville, IL; one sister, Hazel (Carl) Deeken of Danville; two grandchildren, Troy (Kathy) Hafner of Danville and Michele M. Hoback of Atlanta, Illinois; and five great granddaughters Katlyn S. Hafner, Cheyenne Hansen,Taylor Hoback, and Katrina Hoback, great-grandson, AJ Hafner, and special friend, Jean Hicks of Danville. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mildred. Marie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bowman Avenue Methodist Church. She was given the great talent of crocheting. Aside from her artistic abilities, it wasnt uncommon to find her in a challenging game of cards, of which she enjoyed to the fullest extent. Marie was a joy and blessing to be around, and loved her family with all her heart. She was an avid Chicago Cub fan, and enjoyed watching the games on television. A celebration of Maries life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend James Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from10-11:00 am, Wednesday at the funeral home.
