Marie Cooper

Marie R. Cooper, 84, of Danville joined her Lord and Savior at 1:25 am Tuesday November 9, 2004 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. Marie was born January 22, 1920 in Jasper, Alabama the daughter of the late Luther and Lubelle (Tirey) Sparks. Marie married Glenn Cooper on May 1, 1937 in Terre Haute, IN and he preceded her in death on February 18, 1998. Survivors include 1 son Richard "Dick" (Jen) Cooper of Naples, FL and 1 daughter Marilyn (Bob) Swisher of Danville. 8 Grandchildren; Kathy (Tim) Robinson of Danville Robert (Rhonda) Swisher of Robinson, IL Darren (Angela) Swisher of Houston, TX Michelle Cooper of Fort Myers, FL Julie (Jeff) Bliler of Elkhart, IN Charles (Sandy) Cooper of Fort Meyers Fl Chris Cooper of Fort Myers, Fl and Matthew (Julie) Cooper of Monterrey, Mexico. 22 Great grandchildren Aubrey (Brian) Carpenter and Taylor, Chelsea Robinson all of Danville Cody Swisher of Robinson, Lauren, Bailee, Alexa Swisher of Houston, TX Emily Cooper of Fort Myers, Fl Niki, Sam, Joe, Olivia Bliler of Elkhart, IN Mike, Jesse, Zac Cooper of Fort Myers Fl Chelsea, Demi DeRose also of Fort Myers Corinna, Chloe, Jake and Cameron Cooper of Monterrey, Mexico. 2 sisters Betty Delanois of Sarasota, Fl and Beverly Brazas of Westville 1 sister-in-law Kay Sparks of Wisconsin. 2 brothers Ellis and Gene Sparks preceded her in death. Marie was a 1937 graduate of Georgetown High School and a member of Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church for over 20 years. Marie worked for Sears as a clerk and for school district 118. Marie's life revolved around her family especially the great grandkids. She loved watching the CUBS. Marie supported her church thru involvment with the choir, she loved spiritual and country music. Marie was especially known at the nursing home for her special greetings.
