Marie C. Cavanaugh

Danville- Marie C. Cavanaugh, 95, of Danville passed away at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born on September 11, 1916 in East Chicago, IN to Walter and Anna Chudy Jelen. She married Rensie E. Cavanaugh on February 14, 1942 at the St. Stanislaus Rectory in East Chicago, IN. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1987. Surviving are nine children, Daniel (Lou Ann) Cavanaugh, Sharon Ann Brazell, Patricia Antonette Cavanaugh, Jacqueline Marie McCarter, Rensie Timothy (Francis) Cavanaugh, Richard Cavanaugh, Rebecca Elaine (Ken) Hoag, John Jeremiah Cavanaugh, and Joseph Michael Cavanaugh; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; two people very special to Marie, Don Starwalt and Joan Lyday; and many nieces and nephews. Marie's kindness will be missed by many. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Antoinette J. "Toni" Bailor. Marie was a homemaker and was a member at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was an avid card player and enjoyed BINGO. A funeral mass for Marie Cavanaugh will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville. Father Ted Pracz will officiate. Burial will be held at a later time at Evening Shadows Memorial Park in Horshoe Bend, AR. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, September 16 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
