Marian Jones

Danville - Marian Jones, 87, of Oakwood passed away on April 11, 2016 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville, IL. She was born on April 29, 1928 in Streator, IL, the daughter of Sidney and Ruth (Simms) Roberts. She married Floyd Kirby in Streator, IL and later Norman Jones in Danville, IL, both preceding her in death. Marian will be deeply missed by children; Kathleen Kimball of Danville, IL, Christine Kirby-Seyfert of Oakwood, IL, Alan Kirby of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Dorothy Campbell of Ohio; grandchildren, Eric, John (Enkhtuya) Askren of Normal, IL and Tim Seyfert of Bismarck, IL; great-grandchildren, Emily (Mason) Turner, Zachary Askren and Chloe Seyfert, one great-great grandson, David Ordell Askren; special friends, Gary and Lila Divan and Marsha Hardy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son, Stephen Wayne Kirby, siblings, Jacqulyn, Donald, Bill, Deanna and Viola and one grandchild, Jacob Wayne McCoy. Marian worked at General Electric for many years, then later as a CNA at Danville VA. She loved to oil paint, crochet, work in her garden and watch Wheel-Of-Fortune. Marian had a strong relationship with God and loved all her family, friends and dog, Pepper. A celebration of life, graveside service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Springhill Cemetery Mausoleum in Danville, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday April 15, 2016 from 11:30 to 1:30 PM at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel.
