M. Sue Haase

Marian Sue Haase, 72, of Ridge Farm passed away on December 31, 2025 at the Haven of Tuscola. She was born on November 17, 1953 in Danville, Illinois to the late Wilbur and Mary {Foreman} Scarlett. Sue’s educational journey began in Ridge Farm, where she attended and graduated from Ridge Farm High School. Her innate passion for caring for others led her to study nursing at Danville Area Community College, where she obtained her LPN certification for licensure. This accomplishment paved the way for a fulfilling career dedicated to providing care for others. She was a charge nurse at Danville Care for many years, before transitioning to Christie Clinic, where she would spend the next 25 years before her retirement not only providing care, but laughter as well to patients.

Her personality shone brightly through her love for laughter and her remarkable sense of humor. Sue will be remembered for her caring, kind soul and always ensuring that those around her felt loved and well-cared for. Her friends knew her for not just her compassion, but for the joyous moments shared over meals, where laughter and stories flowed freely. Sue enjoyed scrapbooking and was an avid sports enthusiast, passionately supporting the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and the University of Illinois teams. A member of the Olivet Nazarene Church, Sue's faith played a significant role in her life, guiding her in her caring interactions with others.

In addition to her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim, whom she married on July 15, 2017 in Olivet; as well as her siblings Jack Scarlett and Cheryl Priest, and her step-son Dustin Haase.

Sue will be dearly missed by her son Aaron (A.J.) Scarlett; her step-children Ryan (Heather) Haase, Eric (Tisha) Haase, Brandy (Ed) Peevler, and Sarah Haase; as well as her grandchildren Allie Scarlett, Iris Scarlett, Noah Scarlett, Seth (Ashley) McDaniel, Olivia (William) Boettner, Lacey Peevler, Shelby Peevler, Paitan Haase, and Westen Haase. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren Alayna McDaniel, Oakley McDaniel, Mackenna McDaniel, Lillian Boettner, and Savannah Boettner; and her siblings Katharine (John) Strader, Faith (Bill) Campbell, Wayne Scarlett, and Gary (Betty) Scarlett.

Per Sue’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 12 pm at Sunset Funeral Home’s Houghton- Leasure Chapel, located at 200 E. West Street in Georgetown, Illinois.
