Maria Petrus

Maria Petrus, 97, of Westville, passed away at 7:20am, Friday, November 11, 2011, at her home. She was born on September 18, 1914, in Hopewell, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Henry and Myrtle {Richir) Lesage. She was united in marriage to Michael Petrus on June 14, 1941, at St. Mary's Church in Westville, until his passing on February 5, 1973. She will be missed by: her children, Michael (Judy) Petrus of Catlin, Jean (Tim) Finefield of Peoria, & Tom Petrus of Wentzville, Missouri; her seven grandchildren; and her five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; a son; three brothers; and two sisters. Maria enjoyed life and loved to play cards, as well as, bingo. She also enjoyed going fishing, picking greens, and crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother, & grandmother and will be dearly missed by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Monday, November 14, 2011, at St. Mary's Church, 231 N State St, Westville, with Father Timothy Sauppe officiating. Visitation will be 2pm-6pm, Sunday, November 13, 2011, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville. She will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Maria's name to St. Mary's Church.
