Maria F. Chavira

Maria F. Chavira, 88, of Danville, passed away on Saturday August 31, 2019 at her home with family by her side. She was born in Oaxaca, Mexico on October 22, 1930 the daughter of Ramon and Petrona Garcia.

Maria is survived by her sons, Juan Chavira, Arturo Chavira, Roberto Chavira, Eliseo (Delma Mendez) Chavira, Ruben Chavira, Cosme Chavira, Pedro Chavira; daughters, Victoria Chavira, Maria (Ricardo) Gomez, Laura (Placido) Isidoro, 28 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Juan Chavira.

Maria enjoyed playing bingo with friends, gardening and cooking. She loved spending time with her many grandchildren and caring for the entire family. She will be deeply missed by all who have met her.

A mass of Christian Burial for Maria will be held at 10am on Friday, September 6, 2019 at St. Pauls Catholic Church 1303 N. Walnut St., Danville. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 North Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Maria will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
