Margery R. Smith, 89, of Danville, passed away at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Margery was born on September 7, 1922 in Warren County, IN, the daughter of Alfred and Amanda (Neese) Bahls. She married John Roy Smith on August 31, 1947 in Danville. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1994. She is survived by one son-David John (Lorrie) Smith of Mesa, AZ, one daughter- Karen J. (David) Wright of Danville, one brother- Robert Bahls of Mesa, AZ, three grandchildren- Beau (Renee Frantini) Wright, Nicolas (Ariel) Wright and Kathy Metz, seven great-grandchildren-Rachel, Brett, Hannah, Athena, Jonathon, Samantha and Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother-James Bahls, one sister- Betty Watson and one daughter- Kathy Jo Smith. Margery graduated from Bismarck High School then worked there as a secretary for 24 years until she retired in 1985. She was a member of Bismarck United Methodist Church and was part of the women's group. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, yard work and most of all her grandchildren. A Celebration of Margery's life will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastor Herbert Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials can be made in Margery's name to the American Alzheimer's Association.
