Margaret Strahl, 79, of Danville passed away at 4:05 am Monday September 6, 2004 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Margaret was born April 2, 1925 in Danville the daughter of the late Mahlon and Laura (Lierman) Whitaker. Margaret married Frank J. Strahl Jr. on July 5, 1947 in Danville and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1975. Survivors include her longtime Companion Raymond Woddard of Danville. 2 sons F. John (Pam) Strahl of Danville and Joey R. (Ellen) Strahl of Cliffside N.C. 1 daughter Judy (Dan) Brown of Hoopeston. 5 Grandchildren Hoby (Shanon) Strahl, Joe Strahl both of Chicago, Laura (Jason) Hart of Silverdale WA Toby (Paige) Brown of Hoopeston, and Tanja (Brian) Weinard of Boswell, IN 7 Great-grandchildren Jenna, Katie, Joshua, and Megan Brown of Hoopeston and Christopher, Kylie, and Laura Weinard of Boswell, IN. 1 sister Flossie Stage preceded her in death. Margaret attended Lutheran grade school and graduated Danville High in 1943. Margaret's business career varied but she worked as a Secretary for her son at Venture Mechanical and for Gene Hughes in the County Probation Office and for Keith Smith in the Vermilion County Clerks Office. Margaret was an active lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Women's Guild and was very involved in the Church Bizarre. Margaret was a longtime Election Judge for Precinct # 2 and was an active member of the Vermilion County Republican Party. Margaret was a member of the Danville Art League and volunteered at the Humane Society. She loved to bowling, roller-skating crafting sewing and crocheting, playing on her computer, and eating out with Raymond.
