Margaret Stephenson

Margaret E. Mag Stephenson of Georgetown, formerly of Phoenix, AZ, passed away at 1:55pm, Wednesday, April 16th, 2008, at the age of 98 as a resident of Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. Margaret was born September 28th, 1909, in Petersburg, IN, to Bill and Evie (Bray) Grider. She married Allen C. Red Stephenson on January 14th, 1930. He passed away September 14th, 1988. She will be greatly missed by: her son, Jack (Sandy) Stephenson of Georgetown; her granddaughter, Amy (Tim) Steeples of Ridge Farm; and her great grandson, Cody Allen of Ridge Farm; a brother, Jim Grider of Gig Harbor, WA; a sister-in-law, Evelyn (Bob) Winkle of Georgetown; many nieces and nephews; her special friends, Mary Jane and Don Tibbs; and numerous other friends who enjoyed her joyful soul and optimistic outlook. Among others who cared and are saddened by her passing are the many angels among us at Pleasant Meadows. Family who preceded her in death include: her parents; son, Jim; sisters, Dora Brewster and Mary Norington; and her brothers, Harold, Sam, John, and Donie Grider. Margaret was a faithful member of the Mountain View Church in Phoenix, AZ, and the Georgetown First Church of Christ. She cherished her job as a homemaker all her life, and loved to cook and set a beautiful table. There was always room for one more. Mag enjoyed talking, and had an extremely sympathetic ear for listening as well. Her life was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She appreciated and spoke often about the closeness of her family and was always concerned for their well-being. A celebration of Mags life will be at 11:00am, Saturday, April 19th, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Steve Rutter officiating the service with Pastor Jennie Chin assisting. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Margarets name to the Georgetown First Church of Christ or Pleasant Meadows Christian Village.
