Margaret Lucretia Robertson Bartos was born on May 31, 1933 in Danville. She was the fourth daughter of Coy & Edna Robertson. She married Dean Bartos in February 1957, and he preceded her in death on December 29th, 2014. Margaret peacefully passed away on February 1, 2021.
Margaret lived all of her life in Danville and seemed to know about everyone. Most of her 35 years of working was as a Journeywoman/Bookbinder. She worked at Interstate Printing, Eureka and R&S Printing. After retiring she worked at Hills Department Store.
Survivors include two of her children, Carla (Jody) Newell and Jerry (Kristy) Bartos. Three grandsons, one granddaughter and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Debbie, one son Jeffrey and her three older sisters.
Margaret (aka Maggie) had love in her heart especially for children and dogs. She bred Boston Terriers and always had a couple running around the house. During the past several years Chloe, a mix breed was her companion.
Margaret was a long-time member of the Danville VFW and a member of McKinley United Methodist Church.
Maggie was a friend to all she met. You could have a conversation with her and know she would not judge you. Maggie will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at the Danville VFW, 8 Pine St. on Saturday, May 29, 2021 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. At about 2:00 there will be a short message about her life. Serving of a meal will follow. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements.
