Margaret Lack

Margaret Lack, 92, of Georgetown, passed away at 3:07pm, Monday, January 3, 2022, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on December 30, 1929, in Todd County, Kentucky, the daughter of Ewing and Birdie {Bracey} Hester. She was married to Thomas Lack on December 4, 1948. Margaret is also survived by her children, Patsy Lack, Bob (Micki) Lack, Diane Smith, & Teresa (Greg) Van De Walker; her grandchildren, John Collins, Matt (Lenn) Collins, Sean (Lisa) Conklin, Courtney (Josh) Lack, Cindy (Roy) Pasquale, & Donnie Wagner; her great grandchildren, Jonathon (Payton), Cassandra, Trinity, Lexi, Matthew, Landon, Grace, Kara, Ryelee, Zander, Arianna, Hannah, Dominick; her great-great grandchild, Lennon; her brother, Edward; and her two sisters, Evelyn & Linda. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, Phil Smith; great grandson, Thomas Conklin; her nine brothers & sisters; and special family friend, Larrie Brown. Margaret worked as a nurse at the VA and later retired. She is fondly remembered for her road trip to Springfield with her grandchildren and made a complete breakfast in Decatur, all of which was done on a little grill outside. She owned and operated a successful restaurant with her friend. She was the third oldest of 13 kids and very much loved the Lord as she was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church. Margaret loved her family and especially cherished all of her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Manor for the excellent care she received. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 8, 2022, Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown, with Pastor Jim Hollingsworth and Pastor James Blue officiating. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Bethel Baptist Church, Georgetown. Her arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E.
