Margaret Jane Vandevender

Dana, Ind. - Margaret Jane Vandevender, 74, of rural Dana, passed away at 9:05 p.m. CDT Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. She was born August 16, 1939 in rural Cayuga, Indiana, the daughter of the late John and Lillian Pribble Vandevender. Survivors include three sisters; Kathleen(Russell)Hawn, Irene(Gayle)Dixon and Esther Vandevender all of Dana, Indiana; two brothers; Charles(Mary)Vandevender of Dana, Indiana and Leroy(Elizabeth)Vandevender of Hutsonville, Illinois; 23 nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her infant brother, Lester and brother, Floyd"Pete"Vandevender. Margaret was a homemaker. She attended Lindsay Chapel Church in rural Cayuga, Indiana. Margaret was a 1957 graduate of Cayuga High School. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her farm and family. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. EDT Saturday, May 24, 2014 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Don Morgan; Burial: McKendree Cemetery in rural Georgetown, Illinois; Visitation: Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. EDT until time of services at the funeral home.
