Margaret Armstrong of Champaign Il. passed away on March 3, 2017 at Amber Glen in Urbana, Illinois. She was born March 28, 1919 in Danville IL, the daughter of Charles and Phillis McCrone. Margaret married Roy "Pete" Holman on December 3, 1936 in Covington IN. he precedes her in death . In July 1965, Margaret married Richard "Red" Armstrong he also precedes her in death. Margaret is survived by her sister Florence Barton, daughter Sandra (Dave) Foster, of St. Joseph, IL.; grandchildren Debbie (Mark) Woodard of Hookstown PA. Mike Foster and Lori Payne of St. Louis MO.; great-grandchildren Brian Woodard, Ben (Jesse) Woodard, Leah Woodard, Luke Woodard, Clay Foster, Chase Foster, and great-great-grandson Joshua Woodard. Margaret loved cooking for family and friends especially on the holidays. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch and gardening but most importantly, spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her siblings Charles, Don, Kenny, Ruth Emmons, Dick, Larry, and Pat Bergan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion in Danville on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 2pm with a one hour visitation prior. Private burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
