Maretta Kay Ruggles, 85, of Asbury, IA, formerly of Danville, IL passed away at 6:00 AM on March 22, 2026 at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Asbury, IA.

Maretta was born on October 25, 1940 the daughter of Earl Calvin and Mary Louise (Boyd) Darnell in Danville, IL.

Maretta is survived by her son, Kevin (Barbara) Ruggles of Bellevue, IA, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one sister, Linda Mae Sergent of Georgetown, TX.

Maretta is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Michael Ruggles.

Maretta graduated from Bismarck High School and St Joseph College in Joliet, IL.

She was a Registered Nurse for many years and enjoyed spending her free time sewing.

Maretta will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
