Marcy (Michael) Clements

Mary “Marcy” Clements was born December 25, 1925 in Effingham IL to Herschel and Amy Michael. She was the last survivor of 8 brothers and sisters.

She passed away at Carle Hospital, Urbana on August 18, 2024.

Marcy married Francis Clements on March 11, 1944 in Parke County, IN.  He preceded her in death in 1974.

She is survived by 3 sons:  Michael (Pauline) Clements of St. Joseph; Robin (Maureen) Clements of Gifford; Jamie (Vicki) Clements of Mahomet, 6 grandchildren:  Joshua (Jennifer) Clements; Ryan Clements; Matthew (Jenifer) Clements; Gabe (Carrie) Clements; Stacy (Thomas) Hannah; Andrew Clements.  Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren.

Marcy worked at Chanute Air Force Base as a secretary and then as a Master Instructor in the Automotive Technology Division.  When she retired in 1989 after 26 years of service, she attended Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, OK and graduated with her Minister’s certificate.

She then went on to minister every Sunday at Prairie Village in Rantoul for over 12 years.  She would preach in many of the area churches when invited.  She also held a weekly bible study in her home until the time of her death.

Her love for the Lord and her family was always her first priority.  She loved to share her faith with whoever would listen.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 on Friday morning at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Gifford.  Rev. Gary Maxwell will officiate.  Burial will follow at Potomac Cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at St. Paul’s.
