Marcia Sue Ransom

GEORGETOWN- Marcia Sue Ransom, 69, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:25pm on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born in Clinton, In., on April 12, 1938, the only daughter of Marshall and Virginia (Farley) Pound. Both her parents precede her in death. On June 30, 1957, Sue married Jerry Ransom in Danville. He survives along with their two sons; Richard Winfield of Georgetown, and Brian Edward Ransom of Santa Monica, Cal. Also surviving Sue are her two granddaughters; Laci Ranae Ransom, and Brooke Elaine Ransom, both of Georgetown. Sue was a high school graduate and a Certified Nurses Assistant for 15 years. She was employed at the Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, IL, and later, as a private duty nurse, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed her flower gardens, crossword puzzles, reading, sewing, and her beloved cat, Squis. A celebration of the life of Marcia Sue Ransom is scheduled for 1:00pm on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home located at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Final resting place will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Sues name to either the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Foundation.
