Marcella E. Thompson

Marcella E. Thompson, 90, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Accolade Healthcare in Danville. She was born on July 11, 1932, the daughter of Jesse and Violet DeMoss.

Marcella leaves behind her children Debra (Marie) Stout, Joanna (Jim) Wells, Lita Trimble, and Charles Teeters; grandchildren, Michelle, Marci, Bradley, Jessica, Kyle, Joel, and Robby; 19 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.

Marcella was preceded in death by both parents; daughter, Joyce Jumps; grandson, Jeremy Beasley, great grandson, Antonio Alvarez; as well as 5 siblings.

Marcella enjoyed karaoke, playing cards, puzzles, and crocheting. She especially loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She regularly spent time with her cousin/best friend, Joyce Lazzell. She will be dearly missed by many friends and family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Jay Sorrell. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
