Manfred 'Fred' Kellner

Manfred "Fred" Kellner 75 of Tilton, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on March 24, 1936, in Goslar Germany, the son of Heinrich and Augusta (Bernd) Kellner. Both deceased. On May 19, 1956, Fred married Inge Berenz in Germany. She survives along with their three children; one daughter, Annet (John) Smart of Catlin, IL, Michael (Jill) Kellner of Mahomet, IL, and Robert (Kristiina) Kellner of Kenosha, Wisc. His three grandchildren; Andrew Smart, Lars Kellner, Steffen Kellner also survive him. Fred was a bricklayer and belonged to the Bricklayers Union. Fishing was Fred's favorite past time with his children and grandchildren and was always willing to help them with home improvement projects. A Celebration of the Life of Manfred "Fred" Kellner is scheduled for 1:00pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Sunset funeral home and cremation center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial park. Father Ted Pracz has been asked to officiate the service. A visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7pm on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
