Manford Milton Keerns, Jr. 61, of Danville passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Provena United Samaritan Medical Center in Danville. He was born in Danville, Illinois on November 20, 1945, the son of Manford and Ruth (Rigdon) Keerns. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years Janice (Pearson) Keerns, his daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Joseph Bott of Bloomington, IL. Other survivors include: his sister Kathleen Harris of Bradenton, Florida; nephews; Steven(Geri), and Stan Harris also of Bradenton, a niece Karen (Don) Wolfe of Danville and two grandsons; Chandler and Austin Bott of Bloomington, Illinois. Manford was a lifetime resident of Danville. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve from November 1964 to November 1970. He especially enjoyed playing golf at Harrison Park Golf Course and spending winters in Florida since he retired from the CSX Railroad in November 2005. He was a Danville Police Officer for four years in the 1970s. He dearly loved and enjoyed his two grandsons. A celebration of life for Manford Milton Keerns, Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, with Rev. John Prather officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Manfords name to the Make a Wish Foundation or the Linda Mills Breast Cancer Institute in Champaign or donors choice.
